been busy... very busy

Life has been hectic for the past month. Moving home is no joke. It has been tiring looking after the loose ends. Buying stuff. There were many things to buy. Things that never crossed my mind. Had to buy something like 15 big padlocks for the house. Sigh. You get warned by people not to buy RM10 to RM20 cheap padlocks cos theyre supposedly easy to be opened, some with screwdrivers.

The house is still in a mess. Some stuff are still in big bags and boxes, yet to be unpacked. Last evening the contractors finally installed the built-in wardrobe. All that needs to be done is the grilles for the backyard. The funny thing is when we first started renovation we wanted an airy backyard and thus put up a 5 feet wall with a roof over it. Then we realised that security was a major concern. So the grilles will go up soon and the home becomes almost like a jail-like environment.

The kids got sick last week. One after another they had fever. Thankfully it lasted a day or two only. Theyre both enjoying kindergarten. Spoke to their teachers this morning. D isnt that shy anymore and K isnt that aggresive. Theyre both doing fine. K however does have a short temper and insists on getting what she wants.

Work wise its been hectic. A couple of weeks ago someone senior whom we took in for the purpose of being groomed to take over one of our branch offices left us. He couldnt handle the branch well and thankfully we found a capable yet experienced young lady to run it. He got himself back here and after a couple of weeks submitted his resignation. Naturally we were not surprised. But the manner in which he resigned was crude.

Used to think only new people come to see you and talk nicely to get a job. And when they leave abruptly they throw a letter and disappear. Some dont even bother with the letter. This guy practically did the same thing. I waited till it was almost quitting time, and went over to his table and told him off for being ungentlemanly.

Well, life goes on.

Its taken me two weeks to update this posting. Wish there was internet connection at home. Things have very much settled down at home. The living and dining areas are still a bit bare. We havent decided how we want it done. Will probably wait a few months before doing anything. So, in the meantime, the kids will have a field day with a spacious play area.
