Its been a month since Dad passed away. How time flies. So many things have happened.

The 15th day prayers was held on the 28th December. Lots of family friends brought much food that night. Prayers started around 7.45pm and ended around 9.15 pm or thereabout. Lots of food was served. By 12 midnight the next prayers were held. And around 2.30am the final prayers at home. The 16th day prayers is basically an atma shanthi prayers. To apeace the soul.

At about 3.17am my brother, the priest, Uncle Damo and myself went to Lido Beach. It had been drizzling the entire night. We sat at the beach. The breeze made it colder when raindrops fell and touched our skin. We later dipped in the sea and changed clothes and came back home. It was 430am or thereabout.

By mid morning, lunch had been prepared. More family friends chipped in and brought dishes. Sisters had created a fuss with mom and younger brother. We came to the conclusion to let them be and let them do anything. We on our part will continue with our responsibilities. Dad's prayers must be done properly. Thats our priority. We had only wished they had conducted themselves better throughout this mourning period.

That night the prayers were held at the temple at Kolam Air. Lots of calls inviting people were made. Adverts were also placed in the local dailies. True enough, there were about 250 people there i think. Everything went on smoothly. There was so much leftover food though.

The sisters left that night with their families. Mom would be calmer now. And she has been since.

A week later, we moved in to stay with her. Its more convenient. No more shuttling the kids and moving around.

Work wise, its a nightmare of sorts. Its been piling up on my table. December was a slow month for the office in terms of productivity. Thankfully the rest of last year was good. For the remaining two weeks, i've got to pull my socks up and clear the workload. We have got to clear more work.
